The digitization of the world brings with it ambivalent con- sequences: on the one hand, the progress of humanity and, on the other, a dehu- manization of the individual. Plagued by information and images, which make us in- sensitive to the violence and suffering of the world, we are losing the values that make us human. Nothing can im- press or amaze us anymore. This psychological process arouses indifference, mir- roring itself in the intimate and private sphere of each of us. The consequence is a non-acceptance and a deni- al of personal traumas, which are drowned in our subcon- scious.Thesuccessofsocial media has fueled this phe- nomenon, rewriting in us the concept of “normality”. The art of the psychologist Caro- lina Pascari fits into this con- text as a catharsis.
Through the immediacy, the spontaneity and the charge of the pictorial gesture con- tained in the works on dis- play, the artist stimulates the public to activate a process of liberation. The geometry of each picture has an intro- spective symmetry, in which blue - expressing a pre- cise emotional state - is the dominant color. The works, often created as a result of psychological sessions with patients suffering from dif- ferent pathologies, are con- ceived as a provocation, an invitation to embark on a per- sonalized journey. In a path that links art to psychology, the events responsible for trauma or conflict situations emerge on the surface and are freed from the subcon- scious. A “Digital Catharsis” is taking place.
